Old Cholmeleian Cricket Dinner 2012

Friday 2nd November, 2012 at Highgate Golf Club

On a particularly cold Friday evening in early November, in the warmth of the Highgate Golf Club, the OC Cricket Club convened to celebrate the end of the season.

Following a great three course meal, the recap of the season’s highlights (and low-points) was great fun, and prizes were awarded to those players whose performance was outstanding, or memorable for other reasons!

The atmosphere (as always) was one of great fun. Many thanks go to John Zani (Captain of the club) for all of his excellent work in planning such a great event, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all!

Cricket Updates

Job Vacancy: The Cricket Club is looking for umpires.

The Cholmeleian Cricket Club is looking for umpires for both the 1st XI and 2nd XI for the upcoming season, which starts on May 1st.  We would pay £35 per game, and teas (which can be pretty impressive!) are included of course!  We are also more than happy to arrange a lift to the games if needed.

The majority of players in both teams have played together for a number of years, and although we play to win we also play to enjoy our saturdays.  We are all good friends so it's a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere to be part of as well as having a number of talented perfomers - both teams were promoted last year!

Both teams play in the Hertfordshire Saracens League in Division 6 on Saturdays.  There are 19 matches over the course of the season, 9 at home at the Club Ground on Hendon Wood Lane in Totteridge and 10 games away within the Hertfordshire area.  All away games are within an hour's drive of north london.

We are looking for someone with a decent knowledge of the rules with playing experience of cricket and/or experience of umpiring cricket matches to commit to umpiring the vast majority of games through the season, between May and 1st week of September.

If you are interested, would like more information or know of someone who might be interested please contact Chris Millward (chris.millward@marks-and-spencer.com or mobile 07792 020 918)
